Dia de los Muertos has brought the El Sereno community together since 2009. It first began as an Altar Walk where businesses were matched with community members/artists to collaborate on an altar for their storefront windows on Huntington Drive. Then, last year, the Dia de los Muertos celebration expanded into a full festival where one city block on Huntington Drive closed for the day to honor our ancestors. El Sereno Dia de los Muertos Festival was born to engage the community in a day of loving compassion and understanding through remembering our deceased loved ones in this ancient Mexican tradition.
The celebration will take place from 1p to 8pm on Huntington Drive from Pueblo to Portola on October 24th. Activities include:
